1st February 2006: LEC wins Healthcare Industry Ad of the Year
At this year’s PM Society Awards, LEC was the overall winner in the best Healthcare Industry Journal Advertisement category.
Judged by its intended audience, pharmaceutical industry marketing professionals, this press ad was developed for LEC’s associate company Athena Medical PR.
Not that that makes it any easier, as Mike Lane pointed out, your own colleagues are often your harshest critics.
The Athena ad, developed on a brief of Professionalism and Reliability was in good company as two of LEC’s self-promotion ads also made it through to the final six.

Other awards were given for Solvay’s antihypertensive Teveten® Hedge press advertisement, for Pfizer’s Animal Health division’s DectomaxTM and for 5 of the agency’s own ads.
The Rx Awards, which attract entries from around the world, selected these from among more than 1,600 entries at the Awards Night held in Manhattan on the evening of 10th November.
Phil Cox, LEC’s Creative Director, announcing the awards said: “We are delighted that so much of our output has been recognised in this way. More that this, however, we are pleased to be able to deliver such powerful creative work for our clients. This success is due as much to their foresight and imagination as our own.”

5th September 2004: During 2004, Lane Earl & Cox has continued to make steady progress
Swedish company Q-Med came to the agency for its medical expertise in order to help them to launch Restylane Sub-Q across Europe. Restylane is a natural substance which is injected into the face in order to correct fine lines and wrinkles. The new formulation is for chin and cheek enhancement. The agency created promotional and training materials for this launch.
Later, Q-Med asked Lane Earl & Cox and its Consumer agency TBWA to work on the complete Restylane product range with materials targeted to both Professional and Consumer audiences.
International business with UCB Pharma was expanded with a series of Training Modules and Interactive CDs for Keppra.
Following a successful pitch, Schering-Plough Animal Health asked the agency to work on Optimmune, its product for keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS, dry eye). The campaign, which breaks in September promises to create a real stir in the veterinary press.
Finally, LEC Director David Earl made history when he and his brother Brian won a third sailing championship in the Javelin Class. To add to their Inland and European Championship wins earlier this year, they picked up the coveted 2004 British Championships in August. Although they have won the different events several times before, this is the first time that they have achieved the three Championships in the same year!
